Koeln - 8.6.2011

Today was mainly a slow day. The morning was mainly spent faffing about, with the exception of a trip to Kaufland. So that was fun.

In the afternoon, we drove up (or possibly down) to Koeln. We visted der Koelner Dom, though we didn't climb the 4375634786 stairs up to the top like my brother and I did the last time I was here. Then we meandered through the streets. I bought a massive postcard to add some variety in size to the collage I started on my door back home. We went to Dunkin Donuts, as my cousin said it was the only one she knew of and wanted to go. I expected that we would do some serious shopping, but we only went to one store because my cousin really wanted to.

We did a ton of walking. We visited a bridge whose name I don't know. It is famous because people in love go there and put a lock on the chainlink fence with their names and the date they met and then throw the key into the river. We looked at the locks for a while before turning to walk back to the car.

Oh, I forgot. So when we were driving there I really needed to pee. We went into a cafe and ended up ordering dessert. The waiter brought me the wrong drink first (Eiscafe instead of Eisschokolade). I was fine with it, but my mom insisted that we get him to exchange it. He did so unwillingly. Then my uncle complained that the little heart-shaped piece of cone in his ice cream was stale. My mom ended up writing down the contact information of the cafe so she could complain about the waiter later. Fun times.

I have some complaints now, so bear with me.
